Polythene manufacturers Marpak have continued their devotion to making the workplace safer by officially signing up to the SIMPL initiative. The initiative is a collaboration of representatives from the industry, the unions and the HSE aimed at improving health & safety standard in the industry.
Since the launch, companies have been signing the SIMPL pledge to demonstrate their commitment to the initiative and to improving health and safety within the polythene industry workplaces. Business owners have been reviewing their own health and safety standards and producing company action plans to improve workplace safety during the three-year strategy.
A three-year strategy has been developed by the partnership to promote and encourage improvement in health and safety standards in the plastics industry. The strategic objectives of the partnership support HSE’s Be part of the solution strategy.
The BPF, PAFA and Composites UK have each produced action plans to identify how they will work with the plastics industry to promote practical improvements in the plastics sector they represent.
