Marpak Extrusions, a Leeds based polythene extrusion and conversion company, has taken the ambitious steps in launching sister company Talos Packaging Systems, a full service end-of-line packaging solutions provider.
The new venture from the manufacturer, the first of its kind based in the UK, will allow Talos to act as a turnkey business, providing manufacturers with a range of services for all their end-of-line packaging requirements in the UK and Europe. From sourcing machine parts and refurbishing used equipment to full project management relating to the commissioning of brand new industrial plants, Talos can support a range of needs including transport simulation/shrink/stretch-hood machines/plant relocation and installation.
Marpak is already engaged in a number diverse sectors and supplies some of the biggest glass manufacturers for food and beverage within Europe. Talos now compliments this operation, with food and beverage/glass/pharmaceuticals and construction forming some of the most important key sectors for the company.
Managing Director Jamie Gibson explains “Talos Packaging Systems was founded due to ongoing services we have been providing through Marpak for some time” he continues “It’s a natural progression from the supply of film. We have long term relationships with leading manufacturers and customers who require end-of-line machinery and equipment. It was just a matter of time before we decided to match these elements together and establish the service as a stand-alone business”
The extent of services on offer is due to strong partnerships with all aspects of purchasing and hiring of industrial packaging systems. Talos is proud to have become UK agents for both Manuli Packaging, a producer of high performance stretch film, and the Aetna Group, a world leader in machine and equipment manufacturing. In addition to these important alliances, Talos has teamed up with specialist finance provider, NGI Finance to offer customers finance options specific to the needs of industrial companies.

Our 30 years in the industry through Marpak means we have experienced project managers, electrical and mechanical engineers and a strong network within Europe and the UK to undertake small and large scale operations. With a number of projects completed now, we have got off to a great start and we are very excited to developing Talos further with more manufacturing brands approaching us regularly”
